You may have seen that September the 29th, was the big Macmillian coffee morning, and like many companies up and down the country, Mainstream was doing its bit to help with this worthy charity.
We have a particular reason to raise money, as earlier this year our friend and Colleague Erika passed away after being diagnosed with Cervical Cancer in 2015. Our aim therefore was not only to raise money for MacMillan but also for Erika’s family, husband and 3 year old daughter.
We put out the call to the staff to bake or buy cakes and sweet treats for our fund raising day, and they did not disappoint. With a desk and two lunch tables groaning under the weight of goodies, we invited the local businesses to pop by for a cup of tea and a chin wag during the lunch hour and were happy to host a few visitors through the afternoon.
With cakes almost literally coming out of our ears, we even managed to hit the streets in the afternoon and take the party to the local offices in our business park, which further helped to swell the coffers.
At the end of an amazing day we had raised an incredible £335 pounds which will be split between MacMillan and our Erika Fund.
Many thanks to all those that brought, bought or baked, and to those that donated, and a massive thank you to those who organised the day, and pounded the streets.
